Day Hiking Won’t Cut It

When Jake & I decided to do our second thru-hike, we became inspired to hike for a cause. For us, thru-hiking helped us deal with our anxieties. Our 2018 PCT hike we have decided to hike for ADAA (Anxiety & Depression Association of America). We want to inspire as many people as possible that are dealing with difficulties to step out of their comfort zones & take a hike.

If you truly need to heal, you need to strip yourself of all comforts. When you spend thirty minutes filtering your water from a small, stagnant hole you become beyond appreciative for the cold, clear water that comes instantly out of a faucet. After days of walking in the rain, you will rejoice for a small beam of sunshine. When all you must do is take one step forward all day long you become mesmerized by the sounds of your footsteps. If you hike for you, the journey can be life changing.
